Introduction
The 3D engine is the heart of Viewito: it is what makes it possible to draw, navigate and present a space as if it were real, all from the browser. In this guide we look at how it works, why it matters and how to get the most from it.
How it works
The engine builds a 3D scene with a high-performance WebGL renderer. It manages cameras, lights, shadows and post-processing (ambient occlusion) that gives depth to spaces. To avoid slowing down the computer, rendering pauses when you are not using the editor and resumes the moment you interact.
What it's for
The engine is the foundation of everything: without it there would be no walls, furniture, materials or renders. The three views make it versatile: you see the space in perspective, arrange it precisely in plan, and walk inside it in immersive mode to present it.
Usage instructions
Switch between views
- Open a project: you immediately see the perspective view, the most natural.
- Press the Plan/Top view button to switch to 2D: perfect for aligning objects to the grid.
- Use the Immersive view to walk inside the space, like a real visitor.
- Rotate with the mouse (or touch), zoom with the wheel, drag to move around.
- Return to perspective with one click whenever you want an overview.
Use case
An organiser must present a new trade-fair pavilion to a committee. They open the model in perspective and show the pavilion from every angle; switch to plan to illustrate the stand layout; enter immersive mode and 'walk' along the corridors. In a single presentation, the committee truly understands what the space will be like — no photos or drawings.
